What You'll Do

As a volunteer for Pawrade, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for both attendees and their dogs. Volunteers will assist in a variety of areas, ensuring that the event runs smoothly from start to finish. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Event Setup & Breakdown: Assisting with setting up the procession route, arranging signage, preparing stalls, and helping exhibitors and vendors get organised. After the event, helping with the cleanup and breakdown of stalls and equipment.

  • Procession Coordination: Ensuring a safe and steady flow of participants along the procession route, guiding walkers and their dogs to designated areas, and providing support for any needs that arise along the way.

  • Pet Village Support: Helping manage the "Pet Village" area by welcoming guests, directing them to various stalls, and providing information about the products, services, and charities on display.

  • Charity Engagement: Supporting charity representatives by promoting their causes and answering questions from the public, encouraging donations and fostering awareness of the charities’ missions.

 

  • Public Information & Assistance: Serving as a point of contact for event-goers, answering questions, giving directions, and distributing information about responsible dog ownership and the purpose of Pawrade.

 

  • Safety & Dog Welfare: Helping to ensure a safe environment for all dogs and participants, being attentive to the needs of dogs (offering water, providing directions to relief areas, etc.), and assisting with any concerns that arise to ensure every pet has a positive experience.

 

  • Pawrade volunteers should have a love for dogs, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an event that promotes responsible dog ownership, supports animal welfare charities, and celebrates the joy of dogs in our community.
